Job summary

Yield Engineering Systems, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer in Fremont, CA to lead electrical design across wafer handling automation.

You will guide SCARA robot integration, supervise junior engineers, ensure UL 508A and SEMI compliance, and develop schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts. The role requires a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (Mechatronics preferred) and hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, and PLM systems.

Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering; Mechatronics degree also desired.
Proven control system architecture experience: real-time control and communications.
Proficiency with electrical CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or equivalent) and PLM/document control systems.
Experience with sizing and selecting motors and motor drives based upon design and application.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance and support for wafer handling SCARA robots and automation systems.
Lead design reviews and provide electrical engineering guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Ensure electrical compliance to UL 508A, SCCR, SEMI, CE requirements.
Develop and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and cable/harness documentation using CAD tools.
Set up control system test fixtures to test and validate new designs.
Support proper motor sizing and drive selection.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across product development.
Assist manufacturing, field service, and customer applications with technical docs and on-site commissioning.
