Job summary

Knorr Brake Company seeks a System Engineer to lead the engineering implementation of automatic door entrances on new passenger transit rail vehicles. You will define system concepts, interface analyses, and test plans, ensuring ADA/ISO compliance and customer acceptance throughout vehicle development.

The role requires balancing cost, weight, and longevity while coordinating with design, manufacturing, and project teams on North American market deployments.

Qualifications

• Understanding and experience with electromechanical systems.
• General understanding of electrical systems and electronics.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/ISO 22163/ISO 14001/ISO 45001/ISO 50001.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications and create requirements traceability matrix.
• Develop new system proposals and documentation such as system descriptions and interface analysis.
• Create test plans and oversee qualification testing of system throughout the vehicle development cycle.
• Create system bill of materials, keep updated, and provide costing/weight estimates.
• Lead design reviews and perform risk analysis and mitigation plans.
• Oversee on-car commissioning and ensure final acceptance with the customer.
