Job summary

Serco is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the U.S. Navy’s Next Generation Submarine program from the Washington Navy Yard. You will lead a technical team, manage system design, and contribute to cost estimation, T&E, and cybersecurity efforts.

The role requires active DoD Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, a technical degree, and 6 years of relevant experience in submarine programs or similar defense projects. Travel up to 10% is required.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance required or ability to obtain/maintain.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Engineering, Physics, Computer Science).
• 6 years of combined experience/knowledge in Navy submarine systems design, testing, and/or operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, management and optimization of complex U.S. submarine systems.
• Collaborate to manage day-to-day tasks of a technical team.
• Support systems design and requirements management.
• Translate high-level platform requirements into ship specification development.
• Assist in cost estimation and budget analysis; contribute to T&E planning.
• Engage in cybersecurity assessments and engineering initiatives.
• Build and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Facilitate system integration and interoperability tasks.
• Perform risk management and reliability analyses.
• Communicate and report to stakeholders.
