Job summary

Amentum seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the SLBM program in Dahlgren, VA and Washington, DC. You will lead SLCM-N development, installation, and training efforts, providing systems engineering expertise to our Navy customer and collaborating with multiple disciplines to meet milestones.

The role requires a BS in engineering or science, 10 years of DoD systems engineering, 5 years of leadership, and an active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering, science, or technical discipline (or 10 years of equivalent DoD knowledge).
• Ten years of professional systems engineering experience with DoD major strategic platforms or weapon systems.
• Five years of team leadership experience delivering requirements and top-level designs for software-intensive systems.
• Active Secret U.S. Government security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required to maintain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide Systems Engineering support for evaluation of new concepts and designs for SLBM groups.
• Provide installation and training support for the SLCM-N program.
• Perform analysis and review activities for Fire Control System designs for SLCM-N.
• Develop concepts and technologies; research potential Fleet capabilities.
• Coordinate with engineering and management disciplines to support milestones.
• Produce technical documentation and design artifacts.
• Interface with customers at all levels; deliver systems engineering support.
• Verify compliance with engineering documentation standards for SLCM-N.
