Job summary

Amentum seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to lead Fire Control System development for the SLBM program in Dahlgren, VA. The role involves evaluating concepts, performing system analyses, and coordinating with NSWCDD and Navy stakeholders to advance new fleet capabilities.

Qualifications include a BS in engineering and a DoD background with a Secret clearance. The position requires leadership experience and willingness to interface with government customers on mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or technical discipline or equivalent knowledge.
• Ten years of professional systems engineering with a DoD program, five years as a team leader.
• Active Secret US Government Clearance (citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Provide Systems Engineering support for evaluation of new concepts and designs for SLBM groups at NSWCDD.
• Facilitate SLBM meetings and design reviews.
• Perform analysis related to new designs and implementations of the Fire Control System for SLBM.
• Coordinate with other engineering and management disciplines for design reviews.
• Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and design artifacts.
• Direct interface with customers at all levels to provide systems engineering support.
• Verify compliance with engineering documentation standards for SLBM developments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
