Job summary

Gilder Search Group seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to support mission-critical DoD programs at Ft. Meade, MD. The role involves working in a SCIF daily and contributing to systems design, deployment, and security compliance.

You will manage virtualization, Active Directory, PKI, and endpoint configurations across Windows and Linux environments. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and government customers is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows Server 2022-2025, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WSUS.
• Experience with PKI including CA management and certificate issuance.
• Experience with Infoblox DNS/DHCP configurations.
• Experience deploying/configuring Nutanix AHV, AOS, Prism.
• Experience installing and managing VMware ESXi, vCenter; VCP preferred.
• Experience implementing Cisco UCS, HyperFlex, Intersight.
• Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers.
• Experience working in a DoD classified environment; knowledge of RMF/STIGs.
• Experience deploying Splunk Enterprise for security monitoring.
• Experience deploying Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
• Experience installing/configuring Microsoft SQL Server 2022+.
• Experience with backup solutions (Acronis).
• Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies; Excel/SharePoint familiarity.
• Strong written/verbal communication; ability to brief technical/non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Assess and identify solutions based on system requirements.
• Contribute to system design, development and engineering tasks.
• Manage workload during Agile sprints with JIRA/Confluence.
• Create system architecture docs and contribute to integration planning.
• Deploy enterprise-level virtualization and management suites (VMware/Nutanix).
• Design and implement scalable, resilient system configurations.
• Install, configure, test and maintain OS, apps, and management tools.
• Provide guidance and recommendations to government customers.
• Perform system/software updates to improve performance.
• Develop and implement solutions across multiple technologies.
• Implement and maintain Government security standards (DoD).
• Liaise with vendors and IT staff for issue resolution.
