Job summary

Vantive, a vital organ therapy company, seeks a Senior System Engineer to guide chronic therapy product direction from feasibility to lifecycle management. You will drive design concepts, requirements management, DHF maintenance, and system verification/validation.

Ideal candidates have a degree in engineering or related field with 3+ years (or Master’s with 2+ years) of relevant experience, plus strong analytical and collaboration skills to work with global teams and multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years or Master’s with 2+ years of relevant experience in engineering or science.
• Medical devices experience is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of systems engineering and related areas such as electromechanical and software engineering.
• Understanding of internet-connected, software-enabled devices and/or cybersecurity.
• Familiarity with risk-based analysis and root cause analysis.
• Ability to work with multi-functional, global teams.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
• Ability to work independently and shift priorities as needed.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to collaborate with project leaders.
• Creative problem solver who identifies risks early and guides mitigations.

Responsibilities

• Perform systems engineering activities across product lifecycle from development to post-market surveillance.
• Translate clinical and user needs into product requirements and realizations.
• Capture inputs for requirements from user needs, regulatory standards, and other stakeholders.
• Apply technology and therapy domain knowledge to drive product design from a systems view.
• Create and maintain design history files and risk management documentation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across functions to align requirements, risk and reliability.
• Lead mitigation strategies for technical challenges and risk scenarios.
• Resolve system-level technical issues using structured problem-solving tools.
• Conduct impact assessments of requirements with input from key stakeholders.
• Utilize software tools to support product development and verification activities.
