Moseley Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL to support complex defense systems engineering, MBSE, requirements management, architecture, integration, and verification. An active Secret clearance and 15 years of experience are required.

The role involves leading design, integration, and testing activities across the product lifecycle, with emphasis on mature requirements and DO-178C/AFMAN 91-119 alignment as preferred.

Senior Systems Engineer

MBSE | Requirements Engineering

We are hiring a Senior Systems Engineer supporting complex defense systems engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements management, system architecture, integration, and verification activities. This role requires an active Secret security clearance, U.S. citizenship, 15 years of experience, and expertise with MBSE tools such as Cameo and DOORS, requirements decomposition and maturity, system design, and full software lifecycle environments.

This role supports requirements analysis, system architecture, technical documentation, systems engineering management planning, integration and test planning, and technical leadership across the product lifecycle. Experience with Atlassian tools, Jira, Confluence, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and safety-critical or nuclear-critical software development standards such as DO-178C, DO-330, and AFMAN 91-119 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements, Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documentation, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
• Analyze, decompose, mature, and manage system requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle.
• Lead system design and development activities based on established system requirements.
• Guide users in defining and refining requirements, evaluating alternative technical approaches, and conducting feasibility studies.
• Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, system design, and technology.
• Incorporate new plans, designs, technologies, and systems into ongoing operations.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, system architecture, and system design documentation.
• Guide system development and implementation planning through the assessment or preparation of Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMPs) and system integration and test plans.
• Collaborate with the Product Team on systems engineering requirements, designs, integration activities, and other technical considerations.
• Maintain technical integrity and accountability for systems engineering work products and deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence.
• Experience configuring and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines, including pipeline setup, scripting, and configuration.
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including specification, design, implementation, integration, debugging, and maintenance.
• Experience with safety-critical and nuclear-critical software development standards and environments, including DO-178C, DO-330, and AFMAN 91-119.
• Familiarity with structured, process-driven software development environments, including peer reviews, revision control, defect tracking, and release/build practices.
• Experience with Git-based version control products.

Estimated Salary Range: $175,000 - $200,000 (Based on factors such as Government labor categories (LCATs ) education, experience, geographic location, etc.)
