Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector in Promontory, UT is seeking a Systems Engineer at Level 3 or Level 4 to lead technical execution and mentor a team of systems engineers in delivering high-stakes projects.

You will apply MBSE methodologies, support NASA SE planning, and interface with internal and external customers, reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager. The role requires leadership, risk management, and a track record in SE methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (STEM) with 5 years of professional experience or Master’s with 3 years or PhD with 1 year.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
• Minimum 5 years in Systems Engineering methods
• Understanding of solid rocket motor system physics, design and testing
• Willingness to travel 5%–10%

Responsibilities

• Define and execute system requirements and verification models
• Use MBSE best practices to establish modeling methodologies
• Provide training and mentoring to develop modeling capabilities
• Review team product deliverables for quality and compliance
• Coordinate NASA SE project planning and task scheduling
• Communicate progress between team, leadership, and program
• Act as liaison between systems engineering, chief engineering, and program management
• Drive team culture and vision
• Other duties as assigned
