Job summary

Collins Aerospace, a Raytheon Company, seeks a Senior Systems Engineer for the MANTA SEIT department in El Segundo, CA. You will help develop, integrate, and validate resilient navigation and GPS receiver systems for DoD programs and coalition partners. A Secret clearance is required to work onsite.

You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, perform 6-DOF modeling, and ensure traceability from requirements through test across RTCA/MIL-STD standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in hardware/software development, system integration, and requirements-based testing.
• Familiarity with guidance and navigation systems, including GPS receiver design, integration and test.
• Experience with test equipment, technical design reviews, and production readiness.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage software and hardware requirements, ensuring traceability throughout the engineering lifecycle.
• Create and maintain systems engineering documentation, including test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
• Support system integration, acceptance testing, troubleshooting, and requirements-based testing/verification and validation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, including electrical, mechanical, software, and logistics professionals.
• Perform modeling and simulation tasks, including 6-DOF analysis, to evaluate system performance.
• Contribute to the design and analysis of guidance and navigation systems, including GPS receiver design, integration, and test.
• Ensure compliance with RTCA, MIL-STD, requirements standards.
• Utilize test equipment to support development and testing.

Join our MANTA SEIT Department as a Senior Systems Engineer, where you will play a critical role in supporting the development, integration, and validation of resilient navigation systems. You will contribute to cutting-edge solutions that enhance GPS receiver and navigation technologies.

The Multi-Domain Assured Navigation and Timing Applications (MANTA) product line is responsible for providing U.S. and coalition forces with accurate GPS navigation capability to successfully achieve their missions-free of disruption and jamming. GNS solutions equip manned aircraft, unmanned systems, precision weapons, and ground systems. These products include anti-jam systems, integrated GPS/INS navigators, high-performance Selective Availability Anti-Spoof Module (SAASM) receivers, and Military Code (M-Code) receivers.

What You Will Do

• Develop and manage software and hardware requirements, ensuring traceability throughout the engineering lifecycle.
• Create and maintain systems engineering documentation, including test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
• Support system integration, acceptance testing, troubleshooting, and requirements-based testing/verification and validation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, including electrical, mechanical, software, and logistics professionals.
• Perform modeling and simulation tasks, including 6-DOF analysis, to evaluate system performance.
• Contribute to the design and analysis of guidance and navigation systems, including GPS receiver system design, integration, and test.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as RTCA, MIL-STD, requirements.
• Utilize commercial test equipment, such as oscilloscopes and signal generators, to support system development and testing.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Experience in hardware/software development, system integration, and requirements-based testing.
• Familiarity with guidance and navigation systems, including GPS receiver system design, integration, and test.
• Experience with test equipment/tools, technical design reviews, and production readiness.
• Familiarity with Agile development and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience with requirements development, management, traceability, and allocation for systems, software, and hardware.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Typically requires a STEM bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience, or a minimum of 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with Agile development and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Proficiency in DOORS, DOORS NG tools for requirements management.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, ARINC, and RTCA DO standards.
• Background in RF signal processing and experience with commercial test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, electronics, navigation (GPS or Inertial), modeling, and simulation.
• Familiarity with EVMS, ETCs, and ECPs.
