Blue Origin is seeking an HLS Software Systems Engineer III for the Lunar Permanence program. You will work with systems engineers, developers, and program managers to shape autonomy behaviors and software requirements for lunar missions.

The role emphasizes leadership, safety-critical software processes, and collaboration across disciplines to enable sustainable lunar transport of crew and cargo.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in computer science, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years professional experience in software or systems engineering.
• Experience with compiled languages C/C++ and scripting languages Python/JavaScript.
• Experience developing software requirements, verification plans, and test cases.
• Experience across systems and software disciplines, leading cross functional groups.

Responsibilities

• Define system autonomy behaviors and software requirements with engineers and PMs.
• Develop test cases and scripts against software requirements.
• Lead team members in software systems engineering best practices.
• Set direction for requirements, verification events, and test cases.
• Manage hardware-software integration issues across vehicle and mission design teams.
• Understand and apply safety-critical software development processes for safe missions.
