General Motors seeks a Senior Systems Engineer for Low Voltage Systems to define energy use cases and drive improvements across the vehicle development lifecycle. You will own low voltage functions, set consumption targets, and ensure alignment from requirements to hardware and software interfaces.
You will lead cross‑functional teams, analyze power consumption reductions, and produce detailed system specifications.
The Low Voltage Infrastructure Team within the Embedded Platform Systems & Infrastructure organization is focused on the development of systems and controls centered around on-vehicle low voltage power generation, energy storage, power management, distribution, and consumption on ICE, EV and PHEV vehicle platforms. As a Senior Systems Engineer - Low Voltage Systems, your technical expertise in low voltage power consumption will be leveraged throughout the entire vehicle development life cycle, including requirements, design, testing, and problem resolution.
You will own and define specific low voltage system functions through understanding of customer use cases and expectations. You will drive GM’s industry leadership of optimized low voltage consumption by defining low voltage energy consumption use cases, setting consumption targets, analyzing and driving reductions in power consumption for complex devices and features, and assessing competitor low voltage consumption performance.
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week {or other frequency dictated by their manager}.This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
