Job summary

RTX in Fullerton, CA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to own requirements for the JPALS and adjacent programs. You will define system-level and interface requirements for GPS-based approach and landing solutions, working with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated hardware-software solutions.

Candidate should have 5+ years in systems engineering, experience with DOORS, MBSE, and interface definition, and be eligible for a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with GPS/PNT systems and requirements engineering practices.
• Proficiency with IBM Rational DOORS and requirements management best practices.
• Experience with DOORS DXL scripting and traceability.
• Experience with system requirements derivation, interface definition, allocation, integration, test planning and verification.
• Experience documenting specifications, ICDs, TRDs, and SE plans.
• Proficiency with MBSE tools (DOORS, Cameo) and MS Office; familiarity with Jira/Confluence.
• Typically requires STEM degree with 5+ years experience or advanced degree with 3+ years.

Responsibilities

• Elicit and define system-level and subsystem-level requirements based on customer specs and concepts.
• Analyze stakeholder needs and translate into testable, feasible requirements.
• Apply systems thinking for completeness, consistency, and allocation across hardware, software, and interfaces.
• Collaborate with system requirements engineering team and follow lead guidance.
• Maintain requirements in DOORS with traceability and impact assessments.
• Create scripts to automate DOORS import/export across formats.
• Define and document system interfaces and contribute to ICDs and architecture artifacts.
• Participate in design reviews, requirement change assessments, and verification planning.
