Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Algorithms to support the JPALS program. The role involves developing algorithms and high-fidelity models, with MATLAB/Simulink modeling, statistical analysis, and simulations.

You will work with a small team on complex analyses, document equations, and present technical results to customers. A security clearance is required, and on-site work in Fullerton, CA may be involved.

Qualifications

• Proficient in MATLAB with emphasis on code optimization and numerical stability.
• Strong data analysis and problem solving skills are required.
• Experience with model-driven design using Simulink and auto-generated code.
• Understanding of software development basics – version control and collaborative processes.
• Experience reading algorithm descriptions, mathematical derivations and matrix math.
• Knowledge of systems engineering discipline and lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Support development of algorithms, tools, and models for the JPALS program.
• Perform statistical analysis, probability, and Monte Carlo simulations.
• Conduct independent research and analysis.
• Collaborate with a small team for system trouble shooting and analysis.
• Interpret technical papers and integrate algorithms into high-fidelity models.
• Lead technical discussions with customers and team presentations.
