Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer Algorithms in Cedar Rapids to drive development, integration and prototyping of JPALS Airborne Algorithms. You will work with multidisciplinary teams and lead model-based development across the full systems engineering lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has extensive MathWorks tool experience, a strong background in airborne algorithms, and familiarity with DO-178/ARP/MIL-STD-882E.

Qualifications

• Experience with the full MathWorks toolset: MATLAB, Simulink, Polyspace, Embedded Coder, Requirements toolbox, Stateflow, Design Verifier.
• Reading and developing algorithm descriptions, mathematical expressions and derivations, matrix manipulations, outlier analysis, and system-level analysis.
• Standards: DO-178, ARP, MIL-STD-882E and Vector-Based Testing.

Responsibilities

• Define and decompose requirements related to airborne algorithms.
• Test algorithms and models for the JPALS program, and develop rapid automation of testing.
• Provide architecture-level insight for high-assurance airborne algorithms designs.
• Involve in all technical aspects from paper to field.
• Solve complex problems in flight dynamics, mathematics and physics.
• Incorporate Model-Based Systems Engineering tools and methodologies.
