Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership for the IVL platform across hardware, software, optics, and disposables. You will translate clinical needs into system-level requirements and drive verification strategies in a regulated medical-device environment.

The role requires expertise in systems engineering, design controls, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver Class II/III devices from concept through commercialization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 7+ years engineering experience in technology/product/system development.
• 5+ years technical leadership on cross-functional teams.
• 5+ years of systems engineering of multidisciplinary hardware-software products.
• Experience with Class II/III medical devices and Design Controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead system architecture, requirements, integration, and verification for the IVL platform.
• Define and maintain system requirements, interfaces, and performance criteria.
• Lead requirements decomposition and traceability from user needs through tests.
• Drive integration across console hardware, embedded software, and disposables.
• Define and manage interfaces among subsystems for seamless functionality.
• Lead system-level trade studies and modeling to reduce program risk.
• Develop system performance characterization methods and test strategies.
• Plan and execute integration, verification, and validation testing.
• Conduct root cause analysis across engineering disciplines.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, electrical, mechanical, optics, QA, regulatory, and clinical teams.
• Lead technical reviews and mentor cross-functional teams.
• Support risk management, ECOs, CAPAs, and design reviews.
