Job summary

MITER Brands, a leading manufacturer of windows and doors, seeks a Systems Engineer to manage provisioning, configuration, operation, and maintenance of its system infrastructure. The role ensures uptime, backups, and monitoring while supporting multiple locations and occasional after-hours work.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years as a Server System Administrator across Windows/Unix/Linux, strong networking, DNS/DHCP/AD, and experience with IIS, SQL databases, NetApp storage, and virtualization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Computer/IT related field is preferred.
• 7+ years’ experience as a Server System Administrator in Windows, Unix, and/or Linux.
• 5+ years’ networking experience (firewalls, switches, routers).
• Experience supporting multiple locations is a plus.
• Experience with DNS, DHCP, Active Directory.
• Experience managing MS IIS.
• Experience with MS SQL, Oracle or MySQL is desired.
• Experience with NetApp Storage preferred.
• VMware/Nutanix virtualization deployment, administration, optimization preferred.
• Willing to travel 10% - 25%.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Life cycle maintenance of systems.
• Backups and disaster recovery operations.
• Restore data from backups as needed.
• Monitor system health and logs; respond to outages.
• Recommend changes to improve configurations and hardware/software needs.
• Install and configure new hardware/software; document configurations.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues; apply OS updates.
• Perform routine system and software audits.
• Occasional evenings/weekends as business needs.
