Job summary

EDU Passport LLC is seeking an IT Systems Administrator for Paterson Public Schools. The role supports the Technology Team, maintaining and securing the district's server environment, VMware, Google Workspace, and Active Directory. Strong planning and problem-solving in a school IT context are essential.

The position requires at least 8 years in IT administration, with preference for school infrastructure experience, plus the ability to work across teams and respond to audits and security needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience accepted in lieu of 4-year degree.
• Minimum 8 years as an IT system administrator, network administrator, or similar role (school infrastructure experience preferred).
• Supports core Technology Team with day-to-day technology systems and networking responsibilities and projects.
• Interacts with help desk and other teams to troubleshoot and identify root causes and provide technical support.

Responsibilities

• Installs, manages, and maintains the district's physical and virtual servers environment.
• Manages school information systems including oversight, maintenance, backups, security, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Oversees security measures for networks, systems, and data; manages Apple devices and mobile management.
• Manages VMware server infrastructure, Active Directory, and Google accounts.
• Assists with disaster recovery planning and the creation of IT policies and procedures.
