Job summary

Uline is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to steward IBM i environments. Based at corporate HQ in Pleasant Prairie, WI, you will design, optimize and support mission-critical IBM i infrastructure for reliability and performance.

You will lead daily operations, manage backups/DR, collaborate with app and database teams on deployments, and plan upgrades with capacity in mind. You’ll also document workflows and mentor junior staff in a collaborative IT group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of experience with IBM i technologies including CL, HMC, backups, replication and HA/DR.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operation, monitoring and performance tuning of IBM i environments.
• Manage backups, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Partner with application and database teams on deployments and troubleshooting.
• Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations and capacity planning.
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation of configurations and procedures.
• Mentor and support the systems engineer team.
