Job summary

Econolite Group, Inc. is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to own cross-functional product design and drive architecture across hardware, firmware, embedded software, and cloud teams.

You will translate market needs into a coherent system roadmap and ensure disciplined execution across disciplines. The role requires deep systems thinking, collaboration across product and engineering, and a focus on scalable architectures for traffic management and data-driven platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of systems engineering experience in traffic/industrial tech.
• 3+ years in technical leadership coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of hardware development, chip/SOM compute platforms and sensor interfaces.
• Experience with embedded firmware development and testing.
• IoT connectivity and cloud integration architectures.
• Experience with ISO standards and formal development processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Systems/EE/CE or related field.
• Strong communication and facilitation across product, hardware, firmware, and cloud teams.

Responsibilities

• Own cross-functional product design and translate requirements into system architecture.
• Align hardware, embedded, and IoT/cloud teams across the lifecycle.
• Define system architecture and interfaces between layers.
• Lead requirements decomposition and traceability to components.
• Make technical trade-off decisions balancing cost, performance, and manufacturability.
• Coordinate system-level integration, verification, and validation.
• Identify and manage cross-team risks and dependencies.
• Partner with hardware on chip/SOM selection and sensor integration.
• Support ISO process compliance and agile practices for hardware/systems.
• Represent systems engineering in design reviews and stakeholder communications.
