Job summary

Prolific Machines seeks a senior hardware leader to own hardware engineering, guiding illumination systems from prototype to customer-ready product. You will lead mechatronics, optical, electrical, and firmware engineers and shape technical strategy with the CTO.

You will inherit an exceptional team, with a culture of collaboration and quality, and you will drive systems thinking across modular subsystems and interfaces while ensuring scalable, compliant hardware development.

Qualifications

• Senior hardware leadership experience in a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience taking hardware from R&D to production and field deployment.
• Strong systems-level mindset for hardware architecture and interfaces.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including with executives and partners.

Responsibilities

• Translate company strategy into a multi-year hardware roadmap and plans.
• Define GMP readiness path for hardware used in partner manufacturing environments.
• Lead the transition from R&D prototypes to manufacturable, serviceable products.
• Oversee external development partners and contract manufacturers with clear milestones.
• Coach and grow a multidisciplinary hardware engineering team.

Education

BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, Systems, or Biomedical Engineering
