Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Maru Program for the Intelligence Community, based in Gaithersburg, MD. You will lead systems engineering across the lifecycle, collaborate with product owners and agile teams, and ensure security and compliance per IC standards.

Your role involves designing architectures, developing CONOPS, and guiding DevSecOps, CI/CD, and system integration efforts in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field with 8–12 years of experience.
• 8+ years of professional systems engineering experience.
• Experience with DoD/IC programs.
• DoD 8140/8570 Compliance: Active Security+ or higher.
• INCOSE certification at ASEP/CSEP/ESEP level.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering across the full lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Agile teams to translate mission needs into solutions.
• Develop system architectures, interface definitions, CONOPS, and technical documentation.
• Perform systems decomposition, functional analysis, allocation, and traceability.
• Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and technical roadmaps.
• Evaluate system performance, identify risks, and develop mitigations.
• Coordinate integration across multiple development teams and partners.
• Support verification and validation activities and design reviews.
• Support DevSecOps and CI/CD processes.
• Ensure compliance with IC engineering standards and security requirements.
