Job summary

Ashburn Consulting LLC is seeking a mid to senior level Systems / Enterprise Engineer to support enterprise MFT operations, Linux and Windows systems, cybersecurity tools, servers, storage, networks, and cloud environments.

The role emphasizes strong technical judgment, documentation, training, planning, and follow-up skills, with responsibilities spanning day-to-day operations and longer-term planning including market research and preliminary cost estimation for alternative solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise IT systems engineering.
• Experience administering Linux servers and storage in on-prem and cloud.
• Familiarity with MFT, DLP, and security tooling.
• Ability to plan, document, and train support staff.

Responsibilities

• Support Linux servers, storage, and related environments on‑premises and in the cloud.
• Administer and troubleshoot network, storage, server, and application issues.
• Support Axway MFT / Secure Transport in on-premise and cloud environments.
• Coordinate tasks with internal teams, customers, and vendors; track work items.
• Prepare technical docs, runbooks, and train staff as needed.
• Support planning, market research, cost estimation, modernization, and migration planning.
• Provide continuity and technical coverage when leadership unavailable.
