Job summary

SandTech Solutions seeks a Systems Engineer to support the National Military Command Center at the Pentagon, onsite 100%. The role requires TS/SCI clearance and hands-on VMware, Windows/Linux administration, and DoD compliance experience.

Candidates will design and maintain enterprise VMware environments, manage SAN storage, and coordinate with cybersecurity teams on STIG adherence, system migrations, and disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (CS/IS/IT/Engineering/Math/Business).
• Master's degree plus 3 years general experience or 8 years overall with 6 years specialized experience.
• DoD IAT Level II certification or equivalent (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP).
• Hands-on VMware virtualization management and enterprise SAN/storage experience.
• Strong SysAdmin/Systems Engineering skills across Windows/Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize large-scale Windows/Linux server environments.
• Design, implement, and manage VMware vSphere/DRS/HA clusters.
• Migrate and consolidate virtualization workloads (Hyper-V to VMware).
• Configure and manage SAN storage, backups, and DR processes (Veeam).
• Plan capacity, performance, and lifecycle upgrades for DoD systems.
• Troubleshoot complex cross-domain system integration issues.
• Work with cybersecurity teams to align with DISA STIGs and DoD requirements.
• Prepare engineering docs, SOPs, and Remedy tickets.
