Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team and help develop software that connects physics-based modeling and simulation tools in a Digital Engineering Environment for Department of Defense programs.

The role emphasizes MBSE, digital thread concepts, and rigorous system integration across diverse engineering domains. We value a strong entrepreneurial mindset, the ability to progress from problem statement to prototype to production-ready

Qualifications

BS, MS, or PhD in engineering, computer science, physics, operations research, applied mathematics, or a closely related field
10+ years relevant work experience with BS
8+ years relevant work experience with MS
Experience going from problem statement to prototype to production-ready products
Experience with Digital Transformation strategies, setting up ecosystems and environments, and providing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) architectures
Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment

Responsibilities

Develop MBSE products for DoD Systems and connect engagement, mission, and campaign analysis tools for the DoD
Market new ideas and present to potential customers
Manage projects through technical leadership and influence software development in a Digital Engineering Environment
