Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our Digital Engineering team.

You will design and analyze new warfighter capabilities, model architectures with MBSE, and contribute to software tool development that addresses DoD challenges. The ideal candidate will have strong systems modeling skills, a passion for Mission Engineering, and experience with Python/C++/Java ecosystems.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Eligibility to obtain a US security clearance is required.
• BS, MS, or PhD in engineering, computer science, operations research, applied mathematics, or a closely related field.
• 5+ years relevant work experience with BS.
• 3+ years relevant work experience with MS.
• Familiarity with SysML version 2 and MBSE.
• Experience with commercial MBSE software, especially developing plugins to extend functionality.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze new warfighter capabilities as part of the Digital Engineering team.
• Model architectures using MBSE tools and contribute to Digital Thread concepts.
• Hands-on development of software tools to solve real-world defense problems.
