Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer in Fulton, MD to lead software development projects (CAC2S, BC3) and guide teams through system design, analysis, and verification. The role emphasizes innovation in fusion, awareness, and visualization, with travel to customer sites as needed.

The position requires a STEM degree with 8+ years or an advanced degree with 5+ years, and an active Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

Experience with design and requirements derivation for software; some coaching and mentoring experience.
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

Responsibilities

Serve as a technical lead and systems engineer on challenging software development projects such as CAC2S or BC3.
Engaged with advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies.
Perform full life cycle systems engineering tasks including system requirements analysis, definition, architecture design, trade studies, integration, verification and validation (IV&V).
Serve as Technical Leader of medium to large engineering development teams.
Act as systems engineering discipline subject matter expert for department, mentoring other engineers and solving critical technical problems with innovative solutions.
Travel to customer sites as needed.
