Job summary

Amazon Prime Air seeks a Senior Systems Development Engineer to lead the DO-178C requirements and verification for the DroneGuidance, Navigation & Controls (GNC) software. You will own the requirements lifecycle, drive DO-178C artifacts, and build tooling for simulation, test automation, and coverage analysis.

You will mentor the team, interface with DER and certification authorities, and shape technical standards across the GNC domain.

Qualifications

Experience leading design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure
Experience with Python, C/C++, or similar languages in safety-critical contexts
Proven ability to author/verify DO-178C lifecycle artifacts (HLRs, LLRs, tests) and traceability

Responsibilities

Own the architecture of requirements and verification lifecycle for DO-178C DAL C in GNC software
Lead development of High-Level and Low-Level Requirements
Develop software architecture documentation and ICDs
Create verification evidence and test procedures for DO-178C compliance
Develop tools in Python, MATLAB, or C/C++ for simulation and test automation
Mentor the team and communicate status to leadership and stakeholders
