Job summary

Integral Federal, Inc. seeks a Senior Systems Engineer - Cybersecurity / ISSO to maintain cybersecurity posture, RMF/ATO documentation, and continuous-monitoring for Army biometric systems.

You will interface with Government cybersecurity personnel, oversee ATO/POA&M artifacts, and coordinate remediation with cloud, DevOps, and network teams, including AWS GovCloud security aspects. A Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Seven years of professional systems engineering experience.
• Hands-on DoD/Army RMF and eMASS experience.
• Experience maintaining an active ATO and continuous-monitoring program.
• Familiarity with NIST 800-53 / 800-37.

Responsibilities

• Serve as contractor ISSO and primary interface with Government cybersecurity personnel.
• Maintain RMF authorization documentation and cybersecurity artifacts within eMASS.
• Maintain ATO/Assess Only status, SSP/control evidence, POA&M, STIG status, and continuous-monitoring documentation.
• Coordinate technical remediation with cloud, platform, network, and DevOps engineers and verify corrective actions.
• Support AWS GovCloud security including IAM, logging, encryption, and network-security configuration.
• Support system hardening and implementation of security controls across Linux, Windows, cloud, network, and application components.
• Maintain cybersecurity documentation after changes to architecture, configuration, software, or infrastructure.
• Support security incident-response planning and disaster-recovery exercises.

Job description

The Senior Systems Engineer - Cybersecurity / ISSO provides systems engineering and cybersecurity support for Army biometric systems and serves as the contractor Information System Security Officer (ISSO). The engineer maintains the system cybersecurity posture, RMF/ATO documentation and continuous-monitoring activities while also supporting technical security engineering, system hardening, vulnerability remediation, cloud security, and operational sustainment.

• Serve as contractor ISSO and primary interface with Government ISSM/ISO/SCA cybersecurity personnel.
• Maintain RMF authorization documentation and cybersecurity artifacts within eMASS.
• Maintain ATO/Assess Only authorization status, SSP/control evidence, POA&M, STIG status, scan results, and continuous-monitoring documentation.
• Perform or coordinate ACAS vulnerability scanning, STIG assessments, IAVA/IAVM response, and security-control validation.
• Prepare recurring cybersecurity status reports and provide Government-required cybersecurity information.
• Coordinate technical remediation with cloud, platform, network, and DevOps engineers and verify corrective actions.
• Support AWS GovCloud security including IAM, logging, encryption, network-security configuration, and security monitoring.
• Support system hardening and implementation of security controls across Linux, Windows, cloud, network, and application components.
• Maintain cybersecurity documentation following architecture, configuration, software, or infrastructure changes.
• Support security incident-response planning and execution.
• Support disaster-recovery/contingency-planning exercises and associated cybersecurity artifacts.
• Perform broader systems-engineering, cloud-security, configuration, testing, and technical-analysis activities when not engaged in dedicated ISSO tasks.
• Cross-train with the other BPS Systems Engineers to maintain continuity.

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• Seven (7) years of professional experience in systems engineering
• Hands-on experience supporting DoD/Army RMF and eMASS.
• Experience maintaining an active ATO and continuous-monitoring program.
• POA&M management.
• NIST 800-53 / 800-37.
• Experience with software integration or testing, including analyzing and implementing test plans and scripts. Understanding of ANSI/NIST ITL and DoW Electronic Biometric Transmission Specification (EBTS).
• Familiarity with biometric systems. Knowledge of system-of-systems engineering and integration directorate processes.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Secret security clearance.

Preferred

• AWS GovCloud/cloud security.
• STIG Viewer/Evaluate-STIG.
• IAM and cloud-security architecture.
• Linux/Windows security hardening.
• Security incident response and disaster recovery.

Salary range $120,000 - $135,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline. Integral Federal considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and/or discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay.
