Job summary

Integral Federal seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to sustain the AWS GovCloud platform and implement infrastructure-as-code across Linux and Windows environments. You will automate with Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines, monitor health, patch systems, and remediate vulnerabilities, ensuring secure, resilient operations for biometric systems supporting Army workflows.

The role requires a Bachelor's in an engineering field, 7+ years in systems engineering, and a Secret clearance, with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Seven (7) years of professional experience in systems engineering.
• AWS GovCloud experience.
• Experience with software integration or testing, including analyzing and implementing test plans and scripts.
• Familiarity with biometric systems.
• Secret security clearance.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and sustain AWS GovCloud compute, storage, operating-system, monitoring, and supporting platform services.
• Develop, review, maintain, and control Terraform infrastructure-as-code used to provision and configure AWS resources.
• Administer and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Develop and maintain configuration automation using Ansible, Jenkins, Git/GitLab, Python, Bash, JSON/YAML, or similar technologies.
• Monitor infrastructure health, availability, resource utilization, logs, storage, and system performance.
• Perform operating-system and platform patching and technical STIG remediation.
• Maintain system and infrastructure configuration baselines and support configuration/change management.
• Review infrastructure changes and code/configuration updates before implementation.
• Support cloud backup, recovery, disaster-recovery, and continuity activities.
• Support system integration, releases, regression testing, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution.
• Work with Cyber/ISSO personnel to implement and document vulnerability remediation.
• Cross-train with network and DevOps engineers to maintain operational coverage.

Overview

The Senior Systems Engineer – AWS Cloud Platform & Infrastructure-as-Code sustains the AWS GovCloud platform supporting Army biometric systems. The engineer provides cloud administration, infrastructure-as-code, Linux/Windows systems engineering, automation, configuration management, monitoring, patching, cybersecurity remediation, and platform troubleshooting.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• Seven (7) years of professional experience in systems engineering
• AWS GovCloud experience.
• Experience with software integration or testing, including analyzing and implementing test plans and scripts. Understanding of ANSI/NIST ITL and DoW Electronic Biometric Transmission Specification (EBTS).
• Familiarity with biometric systems. Knowledge of system-of-systems engineering and integration directorate processes.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Secret security clearance.

Preferred:

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

• STIG remediation and DoD hardened environments.
• AWS certification.

Salary range: $136,000 - $151,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline. Integral Federal considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and/or discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay.
