Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking an experienced IT infrastructure professional to manage on-premise and cloud-based services, including virtualization, storage, and disaster recovery. You will design, deploy, and maintain automated deployment pipelines and ensure system reliability.

You will work across university IT teams, provide 24/7 on-call support, and lead ongoing improvements to security, performance, and interoperability across hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 7 years related experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a higher education or healthcare field preferred.
• Experience leading a team of Systems Engineers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages on-premise and cloud infrastructure including virtual infrastructure, OS, storage, backups and security patching.
• Designs, sets up and maintains a continuous infrastructure integration stack with CI/deployment pipelines.
• Provides 24/7 on-call support and after-hours maintenance as needed.
• Maintains interoperability matrices and documents designs and reference guides.
• Leads discussions on new products, engages vendors, and ensures conformance to standards.
• Travel to Data Center facilities as required and maintains broad technology knowledge.
