Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Sr. System Engineer to lead the technical collateral development for in-house server products.

You will define benchmarks, run tests, and create proof-of-concept materials for industry events while serving as the SME on application benchmarks in network, database, and virtualization. You will collaborate with product managers and engineers to craft technical marketing content and white papers, and present differentiating concepts to customers and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in EE or CE with 8+ years system engineering experience is strongly desirable.
• Strong knowledge in server trouble shooting is strongly desirable.
• Experience with server architecture, OS concepts and distributed computing is a plus.
• Experience configuring Windows Server, Ubuntu, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Experience in automation of server-level testing is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of server hardware and architectures including PCI Express and OOB management.
• Experience in technical writing and good communication skills is a must.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop application benchmarks based on enterprise computing requirements and generic server architecture.
• Execute benchmark testing and build proof of concepts based on latest data center technologies and Supermicro server products such as the Supermicro SuperServers.
• Draft technical marketing presentations and white papers for online publications and industry events in collaboration with product managers and system engineers.
• Proactively research and learn new technologies and products to propose new proofs of concept.
• Collaborate with sales and customers to provide networking solutions and technical knowledge.
• Provide technical support to customers for troubleshooting.
