Job summary

Volant Partners in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with a strong electrical engineering background to support our clients in developing and deploying hardware products. You will author certification documentation, verify traceability between requirements and electrical diagrams, and lead complex engineering initiatives in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, mathematics, electrical, computer science or related technical field.
• Minimum of 6+ years of engineering or consulting experience.
• Consultative mindset and strong communication to work with client teams.
• Proven systems engineering and problem‑solving skills in an integrated team.
• Proven ability to manage time and resources to meet deadlines.
• Ability to map high level requirements to electrical schematics/diagrams.
• Foundations in digital/analog circuit design, power conversion, and PCB layout.

Responsibilities

• Author technical specifications.
• Author and modify certification documentation.
• Design and certify panels used in aircrafts.
• Develop high-reliability electronic hardware for aircrafts.
• Review schematics and ensure alignment with requirements.
• Identify gaps between schematics and certification docs.
• Elicit, decompose, and allocate requirements.
• Participate in process improvements.
