Job summary

Forterra is seeking a Systems Engineer for the Autonomous Yard Truck program. You will own requirements integrity, traceability, and safety integration across software, hardware, and vehicle systems, translating product intent into verifiable system behavior.

You will lead cross-functional analyses, support functional hazard analyses, and help mature engineering practices and AI-enabled tooling within the team. A strong background in systems engineering is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related technical field.
• “Seven or more years of systems engineering experience with cyber-physical systems.”
• “Experience with requirements development, decomposition, allocation, and traceability.”
• “Experience creating functional architectures and safety analyses.”
• “Experience coordinating across software, hardware, safety, and test teams.”
• “Experience with Jama Connect or similar platforms.”

Responsibilities

• Own capture, structure, and maintenance of product, SoS, and system requirements in Jama Connect.
• Maintain end-to-end traceability from system to product requirements and validated tests.
• Develop and maintain Yard Truck SoS functional architecture and allocate requirements.
• Assess changes and ensure alignment with safety analyses and verification strategies.
• Lead cross-functional reviews and mentor engineering staff.
