ManTech Senior Systems Engineer/Architect Job Description
ManTech seeks a motivated, career- and customer-oriented Senior Systems Engineer/Architect to join our team in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area.
Role Overview: As a Computer Systems Engineer/Architect, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying network enterprise architecture. This includes designing and implementing various computer and information networks such as LAN, WAN, intranets, extranets, and other data communication networks. You will develop solutions to complex networking problems, handle system administration issues, and perform systems management and integration functions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting enterprise architecture, designing, developing, and deploying network services for government clients; collaborating to capture and present customer requirements in technical exchanges.
- Researching and implementing enterprise-wide network solutions and enhancements aligned with customer goals and standards.
- Producing project artifacts such as requirements documents, design diagrams, and other documentation.
- Troubleshooting network incidents, performing root cause analysis, and documenting findings.
- Assisting with development and execution of test plans for network upgrades and configurations.
- Evaluating emerging network technologies to improve capacity, performance, and reliability; recommending upgrades accordingly.
- Performing site installations, technology refreshes, and developing implementation plans and schedules.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 12+ years of related experience.
- 8570 compliant certifications and CCNA certification.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco routing, switching, and firewall technology.
- Experience with LANs, WANs, and standard network topologies.
- Strong understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, QoS, MPLS, and routing protocols like BGP, EIGRP, OSPF.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Knowledge of incident response, digital forensics, or threat hunting.
- Experience with security tools (SIEMs, IDS/IPS, firewalls).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, C++, and scripting languages such as Bash and PowerShell.
Clearance and Physical Requirements:
- Current/active Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
- Ability to obtain DHS EOD suitability prior to starting.
- Physical ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time, operate computers and office machinery, and occasionally move within the office.
