Job summary

ActioNet is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, build, and validate the compute, storage, and network foundation of a Navy tactical testbed. The role spans current-state assessment through architecture, pilot build, performance validation, and a scale-out roadmap.

This hands-on prototype position involves collaboration with a C4I/Tactical Data Link SME and an AI compute specialist, with hybrid work and on-site support at a Government facility in San Diego, CA.

Qualifications

• Requires DoD cybersecurity compliance experience (eMASS, RMF artifacts, STIGs).
• Experience taking an infrastructure design from assessment through build, test and customer acceptance.
• Experience coordinating OEMs or technology partners during integration.
• Active Secret clearance and hybrid on-site work in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities

• Assess the existing testbed environment and define the pilot baseline across compute, storage, virtualization, networks, and cyber posture.
• Own transport, network, and storage layers; design hyperconverged infra and secure hybrid cloud edge nodes; ensure alignment to IL-5 and Zero Trust.
• Drive pilot bill of materials, stand up and integrate the environment, validate interoperability with testbed systems.
• Establish performance baselines, build automated validation, and assess scalability and readiness for expansion.
• Support design reviews and coordinate with Government customer, documenting risks and interfaces.
