Job summary

CSX Corporation in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a senior Systems Engineer to design, implement, and own enterprise Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms with a focus on resiliency and scalability. You will drive automation using IaC (Terraform), CI/CD (Jenkins), and GitOps (ArgoCD), while coordinating with Dev, Security, and MidTier teams to deliver secure, reliable infrastructure.

You will lead modernization efforts, mentor staff, and ensure high availability across on-prem and cloud-based platforms,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or DevOps roles.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift.
• Strong experience with Linux system administration.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms with focus on resiliency, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Define and maintain platform standards, including lifecycle management, patching, upgrades, and policy enforcement.
• Engineer infrastructure and operational workflows as code, driving automation, self-healing, and scalability.
• Develop, maintain, and evolve internal platforms and tools to simplify deployment, monitoring, and operational health.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver secure, performant, and highly-available systems.
