Job summary

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in the Maryland area to lead cross-functional Agile teams, oversee system design and integration, and engage with demanding customers and stakeholders. The role demands a proactive professional who thrives under pressure and can manage competing priorities.

The candidate will coordinate with product owners, developers, and leadership to ensure alignment with technical objectives, while maintaining comprehensive documentation

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and twenty (20) years' experience as an SE in programs and contracts of similar scope
• Twenty-five (25) years' SE experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree
• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Willingness to learn and develop strong understanding of new technologies and products
• Experience developing and updating technical documentation including project schedules
• Experience with requirements management to capture clear definition of done with customers

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering activities across multiple cross-functional Agile teams
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee system design, integration, and implementation efforts
• Serve as a point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication
• Manage competing priorities and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and leadership to ensure alignment with business and technical objectives
• Interface directly with challenging or high-demand customers, ensuring expectations are met
• Identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks, and drive mitigation strategies
• Maintain organized documentation, system artifacts, and reporting structures
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and Agile processes
