Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is seeking a Senior/Principal Systems Engineer in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role focuses on defining, developing, and deploying aerospace systems while advancing CI/CD, automation, and MBSE practices.

Ideal candidates will have extensive systems engineering experience, DevSecOps familiarity, and proven collaboration across cross-functional teams in regulated environments. Onsite work in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is required.

Qualifications

• Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements, design, integration, verification, validation, and documentation for civil certification programs.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with requirements management tools (Jama, Polarion, DOORS).
• Automation development with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and tested implementations.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Background in aerospace or other highly regulated engineering environments.
• Ability to collaborate across teams in ETZ and global time zones.
• Hands-on experience applying ARP4754 across the system lifecycle.
• Experience in a configuration-controlled environment with problem reports and change requests.
• Strong problem-solving, autonomy, and communication skills.
• Project management capability for smaller projects or technical processes.
