Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Missile Defense Sensors department in the SE&TC Surface Radars & Sensors Center. The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is currently looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) department. The MDS department provides subject matter expertise for concept development, architectural design, requirements generation & flow-down, modeling and simulation, systems analysis, integration, test and evaluation of world-class Missile Defense & Sensor Systems to be achieved through our people, processes, technology and performance. This position is on site in Woburn, MA.

What You Will Do

• Analyzing radar system performance data with respect to requirements.
• Identifying performance deficiencies and proposing solutions.
• Defining and prototyping new algorithms to enhance system performance.
• Presenting plans, designs and system performance to peers, internal leadership and external customers.
• Providing subject matter expertise to agile software development teams to ensure proper implementation.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with Matlab, C/C++, Java, or DOORS.
• Experience with systems analysis, algorithms, requirements development, and/or signal processing techniques.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with Battle Management command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (BMC4I) systems, Radar Systems or signal processing techniques.
• Experience with developing, documenting and maintaining processes, methods and tools.
• Ability to develop technical solutions to complex issues.
• Analytic, technical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with MS Office Suite.
• Experience with system level requirements development, documentation and maintenance and/or requirements development and design of system level software architecture.
• Experience with radar system concepts; detection, discrimination, track and signal processing algorithms and their behaviors and performance.
• Experience with the development and coding of system models, algorithms, test vectors and analysis tools in support of analyzing radar requirements and performance.
• Experience and interest in Information Assurance/Cyber Engineering requirements, determination, development and implementation.
• Experience in using AI/ML and signal processing in database and algorithm design and enhancement
• Previous military service.
• Ability to interface with customers and lead technical solutions to complex user needs.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
