Job summary

Raytheon Technologies seeks a Systems Engineer to develop radar system concepts, write software requirements, and analyze performance data. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement solutions and present findings to leadership and customers.

Role can be based in Tewksbury or Marlborough, MA with travel as needed. Ideal candidates bring STEM credentials, 2+ years of experience in systems engineering, and skills in MATLAB, Python, and C/C++.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with systems hardware, systems/software requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++ and/or other programming language.

The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) organization is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), algorithm development and system performance. The Radar Systems Department within the SE&TC is seeking a Systems Engineer to help in the development of requirements, concepts of operations and algorithms, and the execution of integration and analysis activities. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to solve complex problems. In this role, you’ll collaborate across disciplines and partner closely with engineering teams to turn ideas into integrated, working solutions. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where your work directly enables teams to deliver reliable, mission‑ready systems.

What You Will Do

• Develop concepts of operations for radar systems.
• Develop radar processing algorithm.
• Develop Radar systems/software requirements.
• Be responsible for statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data.
• Be responsible for analysis tool development in support of problem identification and resolution.
• Collaborate with Systems and Software Engineers to develop and implement solutions.
• Present findings and solutions to Leadership and/or Customers.
• This role can be based out of either Tewksbury, MA or Marlborough, MA.
• May require up to 20% travel to RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations to support test events and mission execution.

• Experience with systems hardware, systems/software requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with design, development, and analysis of radar system and software architecture.
• Experience with signal processing techniques in complex propagation environments.
• Proven experience in system‑level requirements development, documentation, and maintenance, or design and development of system‑level software architecture.
• Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo or other digital engineering tools.
• Experience with evaluating systems using simulated environments.
• Experience with military systems.
• Current/Active DoD security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
