General Motors in Sunnyvale seeks a software perception validation engineer to define requirements and metrics for perception software enabling safe autonomous vehicle operations. You will own analysis and testing strategies, prototype simulations and road tests, and drive data-driven risk decisions across product lifecycles.

You will mentor teams, coordinate cross-functional validation for new launches, and help shape long-term verification strategies while aligning with GM's Hybrid work policy.

Formación

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
• Five years of experience as a Software Engineer, Perception Algorithm Developer, or related role.
• Five years of system engineering, robotics, data analysis, and statistical analysis experience.
• Three years of experience with SQL, Python, and C++ for large data sets; evaluating perception systems; and vehicle dynamics basics.

Job DescriptionDUTIES: Define requirements and metrics for validating perception software to enable safe and comfortable autonomous vehicle operations. Own analysis and characterization of perception systems influencing software development and launch decisions. Prototype and develop simulation-based and road-based testing strategies that support continuous and scaled software release cycles. Combine experience in systems engineering and data analysis to facilitate data driven design validation risk analysis and prioritization decisions. Own roadmaps for developing long-term and stable requirements verification/validation and software solutions to advanced problems over multiple product lifecycles. Mentor team members and facilitate cross-team collaboration to define perception validation strategies for new launches. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.REQUIREMENTS : Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field of study. Five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Perception Algorithm Developer Engineer, or related role. Five (5) years of experience in the following: System engineering robotics, systems analysis, data analysis, and statistical analysis.
