General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Autonomous Vehicles Data team. You will design, develop and maintain data platforms critical to self-driving car development.

You will own deployments for AV model training, labeling and replay and champion operational excellence across systems. You will collaborate with ML and Data Engineers, define performance metrics, and contribute to the team's strategic roadmap.

Formación

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related field.
• 5+ years building and supporting large-scale data platforms.
• Proficient in Java, C++, Go or Python with distributed systems experience.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Experience with cost, performance and reliability optimization.

Job DescriptionThe RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Autonomous Vehicles Data team. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, developing, and maintaining the robust data platforms essential for the development and deployment of self-driving car technology.What You’ll Do· Own and Improve deployment of key Autonomy Data platform services used in AV model training, mining, labeling and replay.· Champion operational excellence via SLO/SLI definition and measurement including leadership in incident and support response.· Collaborate with stakeholders (ML & Data Engineers), translate needs & pain points into requirements, build self-serve capabilities and drive adoption.· Deliver e2e technical projects owning major technical decisions and tradeoffs & contribute to the team’s strategic roadmap.· Actively participate in team’s planning, code reviews and design discussions.· Conduct technical interviews, onboard new and mentor junior engineers.Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)· BA or BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another relevant field.· 5+ years in building and supporting large-scale data platforms, including deployment of high-performance services supporting Petabytes of weekly data serving.· Expert-level proficiency in Java, C++, Go or Python , with a proven track record of designing and implementing robust, distributed systems.· Expertise in deployment and managing services in at least one major public cloud provider (Azure, GCP or AWS) utilizing automation and observability for operational excellence· Experience optimizing services for cost efficiency, performance & reliability.· Experience with multi-language hosted services architecture and proven ability to manage the full operational lifecycle of systems.What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)· Experience in implementing Data Processing Frameworks (Beam, Spark) and serving layers optimized for high-throughput, low-latency delivery.· Passionate about self-driving technology and its potential impact on the world.· Experience delivering (100+) petabyte-scale ingestion, processing, and serving architectures.· Experience with SQL engines / queries. #LI-KL2Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The salary range for this role is $153,200 - $269,200 .
