Job summary

Chenega MIOS in Springfield, VA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the standup and daily operations of a dedicated 2‑FTE team supporting the SAP/CAP IT footprint. You will drive continuous fault and performance monitoring, incident remediation, RCA, and integration across UNIX/Windows environments.

The role requires DoD IT experience with TS/SCI clearance and will coordinate with customers, contracts, and vendors to ensure high availability during exercises and missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience
• Associate’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience
• High school diploma or GED with 8+ years relevant experience
• Operational experience with ServiceNow
• Experience in the Intelligence Community
• DoD 8140 (8570.01-M), IAT Level I
• Security+ CE (within 6 months)
• TS/SCI Clearance
• Background and drug screening

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor operations personnel supporting a SAP/CAP IT environment, establishing SOPs, shift coverage, and escalation workflows
• Serve as the primary operational point of contact across customer, contract, and vendor meetings
• Execute continuous fault/performance monitoring and proactive event management across the customer footprint using EM tools
• Lead rapid incident triage, track outages/DRs, and author RCA and AARs
• Maintain and optimize network/infrastructure across UNIX and Windows environments
• Coordinate integrations between EM monitoring tools, ticketing platforms, and alerting pipelines
• Provide technical analysis and coordinate engineering recommendations for EM integration and performance
• Manage hardware/software asset baselines with cybersecurity and engineering teams
• Perform other mission-related operational duties

Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) is seeking an Senior Systems Engineer who will lead the standup, supervision, and daily operational execution of a dedicated 2-FTE Operations Team supporting the PGG Special Access Program / Controlled Access Program (SAP/CAP) IT footprint. This role eliminates mission partner hesitancy and prevents mission degradation by delivering continuous fault/performance monitoring, rapid incident remediation, root cause analysis (RCA), and architecture integration across UNIX/Windows infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor operations personnel supporting a SAP/CAP IT environment, establishing standard operating procedures (SOPs), shift coverage, and escalation workflows.
• Serve as the primary operational point of contact across customer, contract, and vendor meetings.
• Execute continuous fault/performance monitoring and proactive event management across the customer footprint using Enterprise Management (EM) standard tools to ensure high availability during training exercises and live missions.
• Lead rapid incident triage, track and report system outages/Discrepancy Reports (DRs), and author post-incident Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and After-Action Reports (AARs).
• Maintain, monitor, and optimize customer network and infrastructure systems, including routers, switches, bridges, Storage Area Networks (SAN), and security appliances across UNIX and Windows environments.
• Architect, coordinate, and implement technical integrations between EM monitoring tools, incident ticketing platforms, and automated email alerting pipelines.
• Provide technical analysis and coordinate engineering recommendations to adapt network and system architecture for enhanced EM integration and overall performance.
• Manage hardware and software asset baselines while collaborating with cybersecurity and engineering teams to preserve configuration integrity.
• Perform other mission-related operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years relevant experience OR
• Associate’s degree and 10+ years relevant experience OR
• High school diploma or GED equivalent with 8+ years relevant experience

• DoD 8140 (formerly 8570.01-M), IAT Level I
• Security+ CE (within 6 months)
• TS/SCI Clearance
• Successfully pass background and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree
• Active Security + CE certification

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to obtain CI Poly Clearance
• Ability to help support “Special Projects” as identified by Government Customer.
• Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
• Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment

• Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it
