Job summary

Lentech Inc. is seeking a highly qualified systems engineer to serve as the Solution Train Engineer (STE) in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment at Fort Meade, Maryland. This role involves applying systems engineering principles throughout the life cycle of advanced systems and coordinating with multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs).

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in SAFe practices, Agile methodologies, and multi-ART coordination. A bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field and substantial experience in systems engineering is required, along with an active TS.SCI clearance.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.
  • Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. Responsibility for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables.
  • Serve as the Solution Train Engineer (STE) within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment. The STE will serve as the servant leader and coach for the Solution Train supporting a High-Performance Computing (HPC) program.
  • This role provides expert advisory and technical assistance services to government program leadership while facilitating the execution of large, complex solutions requiring multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs), suppliers, and specialized high-performance computing systems.
  • This position combines SAFe Solution Train leadership with advanced systems engineering expertise to support PAC’s mission of developing data processing systems, high performance computing systems, mission repositories, and analytic capabilities.
Required

  • Expert knowledge of Agile Release Train operations and coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Understanding of Lean Portfolio Management and Value Stream concepts.
  • Experience with multi-ART coordination, dependency management, and solution level planning.
  • Knowledge of system requirements management, interface control, and configuration management.
  • Experience with requirements traceability, verification, and validation approaches.
  • Proficiency with configuration management and version control systems.
  • Experience with collaboration tools supporting distributed teams (MS Teams, Confluence, SharePoint).
Education
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus ten (10) years of systems engineering experience.
  • A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience.
  • A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience.

The proposed salary range for this position is: $145,000-$155,000.
