Job summary

MidAmerican Energy Company is seeking a senior systems and development analyst who operates with significant independence under general direction. The role involves analyzing requirements, designing specifications, and developing, testing, and implementing applications across engineering, scientific, and business domains.

You will provide technical support, evaluate software, work with vendors, mentor other analysts, and assist in project planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in MIS/CS or related field.
• Six or more years of experience in systems analysis or software development.
• Advanced knowledge of client/server, mainframe or web development.
• Advanced knowledge of relational database technology.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience integrating COTS solutions and coordinating with vendors.
• Availability for periodic on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analysis and design of moderately complex applications.
• Develop, test, and implement engineering, scientific and business applications.
• Provide technical support and problem determination for software.
• Evaluate software packages and provide management recommendations.
• Support client/server packages and web applications.
• Consult with users to determine feasibility and scope of new interfaces.
• Research strategies across corporate functions and guide other analysts.
