Job summary

Vanta is seeking a Senior Systems Designer to own the operating system for EPD, building agents, automation, and workflows in Jira across engineering, product, and design. You will drive adoption and address root-cause delivery issues with AI-enabled solutions.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, push for practical implementations, and mentor teammates as they grow into more technical work. This role emphasizes ownership, rapid action, and responsible AI usage.

Responsibilities

• Design and own workflow and hierarchy across engineering, product, and design in Jira
• Make sure Jira reflects real practice, and real practice reflects what needs to show up in Jira — in both directions
• Build the agents and automation that run the system yourself, with AI as part of how you work
• Drive adoption: engage teams whose practice doesn’t match the substrate today and effect change
• Understand delivery breakdowns at the mechanism level and build fixes that address root causes
• Build alongside teammates growing into more technical work — raise their ceiling, not just your own output
