Job summary

Fox News Media in New York is seeking a Senior Systems Design Engineer to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of cutting-edge broadcast infrastructure projects. You will lead cross-functional teams for installations, upgrades, and migrations across control rooms and studios.

The role requires 3+ years in broadcast/AV tech, PMP or equivalent, and strong communication skills. Knowledge of SMPTE 2110, cloud workflows, and IP networks is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience delivering broadcast, A/V, or media technology projects.
• PMP or equivalent certification.
• Strong understanding of core broadcast and IT infrastructure concepts (routing, signal flow, networking, storage).
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Experience with IP-based broadcast solutions (SMPTE 2110, NDI).
• Familiarity with cloud media workflows (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocation models.
• Coordinate and manage internal engineering teams, external vendors, contractors, and client stakeholders.
• Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and identify/mitigate potential risks and issues to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Maintain detailed project documentation, including specifications, change orders, status reports, and final handover documentation.
• Possess a working knowledge of modern broadcast technologies (e.g., IP video/SMPTE 2110, cloud-based systems, baseband infrastructure, asset management).

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage the entire project lifecycle for broadcast systems installations, upgrades, and migrations (e.g., control rooms, studios & technical spaces).

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Experience managing technical projects, with at least 3 years specifically focused on broadcast, A/V, or media technology systems integration.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification.
• Strong understanding of core broadcast and IT infrastructure concepts (e.g., routing, signal flow, networking, storage).
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Expert proficiency with project management software (e.g., Smartsheet, AutoCAD, Jira) and standard office productivity tools.
• Experience with IP-based broadcast solutions (SMPTE 2110, NDI, etc.).
• Familiarity with cloud media workflows (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $114,000.00-160,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
