Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a STEM field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in data analysis, assessment, and reporting.
• Experience designing relational databases with SQL, stored procedures, views, and data pipelines in Oracle, PostgreSQL, Redshift or similar.
• Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders, UI/UX, software engineers, and data teams to deliver scalable data-driven solutions.
• Experience with data lakes, Data Fabric architecture, ETL processes, BI tools, and dashboards.

AVER is seeking an experienced Senior Data Solutions Engineer to provide product engineering support and serve as a technical bridge between stakeholders, UI/UX teams, and developers by leading end-to-end product delivery and translating business requirements into scalable, data-driven applications, integrations, databases, and analytics solutions that improve usability, performance, reliability, and mission outcomes. Responsibilities Include:

• Support the full product development lifecycle, including stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, solution design, prototyping, development, testing, deployment, enhancement, and sustainment
• Translate business, operational, and user requirements into scalable, reliable, and data-driven technical solutions
• Serve as the technical liaison between stakeholders, UI/UX teams, software developers, data engineers, and infrastructure teams
• Translate operational requirements to assist in the design and development of database structures, data models, SQL queries, tables, views, stored procedures, and business logic to support enterprise applications
• Optimize application usability, accessibility, performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability across the technology stack
• Support data engineering initiatives involving data lakes, Data Fabric architecture, and cloud-based data platforms
• Administer and optimize SQL-based environments, including Redshift, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and comparable database technologies
• Conduct data analysis, validation, troubleshooting, and quality assurance activities to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, prioritize enhancements, and deliver innovative solutions
• Perform system integration, testing, defect resolution, and deployment support to ensure successful product releases
• Investigate and resolve application, database, and integration issues within complex operational environments
• Recommend and implement technical improvements that enhance user experience, operational efficiency, and mission outcomes
• Document system architectures, technical designs, data flows, development standards, and operating procedures

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a STEM relevant technical field

Experience Requirements:

• 10+ years of professional work experience within data analysis, assessment and reporting
• Demonstrated experience supporting the design of relational databases, including development of SQL queries, stored procedures, views, tables, data pipelines, and integration workflows within Oracle, PostgreSQL, Redshift, or similar database platforms
• Proven experience collaborating with business stakeholders, UI/UX professionals, software developers, and data engineers to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions in complex technical environments
• Hands-on experience supporting data engineering and analytics environments, including data lakes, Data Fabric architecture, ETL processes, reporting tools, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions
• Experience performing application and data troubleshooting, system integration testing, root cause analysis, and performance optimization to improve system reliability, scalability, accessibility, and data quality
• Experience supporting cloud-based and enterprise data environments, including application deployments, platform sustainment, and ongoing operational support
• Experience independently leading high-visibility, mission-critical technical projects from solution design through deployment and sustainment

• Experience supporting the Federal Government, such as the Department of Homeland Security, is preferred
