Job summary

AT&T Global Public Sector is seeking a Deputy Chief Engineer, Systems to provide senior technical expertise for architecture, design, and integration of complex IT and data center solutions for a large-scale federal program. You will work with the Chief Engineer and multidisciplinary teams to maintain an integrated technical roadmap and ensure secure, scalable, and interoperable systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field required.
• Experience in systems engineering, solution architecture, network management, or OSS environments.
• Experience architecting and integrating enterprise platforms like ServiceNow or ScienceLogic in complex IT environments.
• Strong knowledge of compute, virtualization, storage, networking, and enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience developing and reviewing system architectures and interface documentation.
• Knowledge of systems engineering principles and architecture development.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve system architectures and roadmaps for mission-critical IT and communications environments.
• Architect integrated solutions across compute, virtualization, storage, networking, data center infrastructure and supporting technologies.
• Translate requirements into system architectures, engineering requirements, interfaces, and design solutions.
• Support the Chief Engineer in setting technical direction, standards, and architectural principles.
• Provide technical integration across system, network, cybersecurity, infrastructure, operations, and test disciplines.
• Develop architecture alternatives and trade studies addressing scalability, performance, capacity, availability, resiliency, security, and lifecycle needs.
• Guide designs from high-level to detailed design, integration, testing, and transition to operations.
• Identify and resolve system-level dependencies, risks, gaps, and cross-domain challenges.
• Ensure architectures include redundancy, monitoring, and operational support considerations.
• Review architectures and vendor solutions for completeness and alignment.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to incorporate security requirements into designs.
• Work with test and engineering teams to ensure measurability and verifiability of requirements.
